Daniel S. Weber new partner at Barandun
The partnership is pleased to welcome Daniel S. Weber as a new partner at Barandun as of August 1, 2024.
Daniel Weber has many years of experience in banking and financial market law (including FinTech), internal and regulatory investigations, as well as economic criminal law. He supports clients in complex regulatory issues and compliance matters and represents them in licensing and enforcement proceedings as well as in investigations by domestic and foreign supervisory and law enforcement authorities. Daniel Weber is recognized by various legal guides as a leading lawyer in these areas.
Daniel Weber completed his law studies at the University of St. Gallen in 2007 and has been admitted as a lawyer and notary of the Canton of Zug since 2009. In 2014, he obtained an LL.M. degree from the University of California Berkeley School of Law. Before joining Barandun, Daniel Weber worked for several years at internationally oriented law firms, a major bank, and the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) in the Enforcement department. He serves as Co-Head of the Compliance & Investigations practice group of the Zurich Bar Association and is a member of the Anti-Money Laundering Expert Commission of the SRO PolyReg.
